A House for Marcelina

Marcelina is an elderly woman in our branch who is incapacitated. She has two adult sons who live with her in a very small and run-down home that they rent each month. She receives a small pension and one of her sons is able to work, but the money is not enough to support them. They rely on the church to make ends meet. Below you can see some photos of her home.

She owns a piece of land and would like very much to have a home of her own. Of course she has no way to make this happen. This is where you come in. You can help build Marcelina a home!

Through the help of a member of our branch (who is a contractor) and several other businesses and individuals in the community, plans are underway to build Marcelina a new home. Materials have been donated and many people are willing to volunteer their time and talents to make this happen. However, it is not quite enough, we still need some money to purchase the balance of the materials needed to build a modest home. I am told that it could be done for as little as $500, but is more likely to take closer to $3,000.

We will be in Utah from May 26th until April 9th and will be glad to accept any donations during that time. If you would like to help out, please give us a call at 801-785-8197 or shoot me an email at walter@holladays.org. Thanks for your consideration and may the Lord bless you.

  1. Hey! I’ve been there! I could recognize that poster of Jean Claude Van Damme any day!
