El Coco

Our neighbors' parents own a hotel in a small tourist town, called "El Coco," in the Northern Pacific region of Costa Rica. They invited us to come along with them to spend a couple of days at a reduced rate, so we jumped at the opportunity to go and learn some more about an area of Costa Rica we've never been to. Yesterday we went to "Playa Hermosa," which is quite close to the hotel. It was fun, but it was like many other beaches we've already been to here in Costa Rica. January Baptisms

We had two convert baptisms today. The last baptisms we had in the branch were in September. I've debated for a while whether or not I wanted to post any information about baptisms that occur here in the branch. Missionary work is a big part of our lives here in Costa Rica, and we are trying to grow the branch into a ward. I have also been called to be the ward mission leader, which baptisms that much more important to us. However, since baptism is such a sacred covenant, I hesitate to even mention them here. Bird Feeder

On our recent trip to Arenal we stopped at a butterfly farm/nature reserve. They had a stand where they put bananas and papayas to attract the birds. That gave me the idea to do the same thing at home, thinking that we might attract some really exotic birds to our home.
